A Little Late for Christmas, but . . .

Posted on January 3, 2008 - Filed Under Guatemala |

I can´t believe my eyes. Last night, it SNOWED. In Guatemala! How bizarre is that? Here is my street, with Volcan Agua topped with snow.

Volcan Agua and snow

snowy volcan Agua

Here are two other volcanos that are on the other side of Antigua . . . the peak on the left is very active, we´ve been seeing ash clouds nearly every day since November.

Snowy volacanoes

This is so weird that people are standing out in the street oggling the snow-topped mountains! None of it fell down where we live, which apparently is very disappointing to some folks. :D I´m glad, though because there is no heat in the houses and it is already cold enough at night!

Irving´s brother and his dad just headed off to the volcano you see right above. Snow is something they´ve only seen in movies, so they are pretty excited about the idea of actually touching some!

Snow capped mountians… I wish! Sydney doesn’t get that cold for it, and our ‘Blue Mountains’ are not that high for it either!

Mind you, it does look awesome. We saw some in NZ whilst we were there, along the West coast…

So, your BIL and FIL have gone up to a Volcano where the Volcano next to it is active right?? Are they MAD??!!?? I wouldn’t do it for quids!!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!
This is so funny - that everyone is oogling and you are slapping yourself a high five b/c you don’t have to be snowed on - I would be doing the same “HOT DANG” dance, too.

I just blogged about how much I HATE snow!

My friends in the Philippines are very fascinated with snow that they asked me to ‘mail’ them some, put in a glass container! :-)

I had lots of snow experiences while in Japan but I’d be damned if it will ever snow here in Dubai on winter!
