Kevin, it isn´t that dangerous to go up to Cerro de la Cruz on your own, but I do know people who have been robbed there . . . it´s often better to be safe than sorry, especially since thieves don´t just rob anymore, they are becoming more prone to killing, too.

Grace, I suspect veggie markets look the same in most parts of the world! Looking forward to seeing a bit of Duboi!

Thanks for stopping by my site. It’s kind of funny. I read about the police too that monitor Cerro de la cruz but I figured it was a “short” hike anyways so I went alone. It’s not as dangerous as people say it is but then again anything can happen. Yes, breathtaking views! Oh, I miss Guatemala!

Glad you enjoyed it! Those photos were taken of a bunch of items my sister bought last year. The idea was to sell these handwoven items online, but I never got around to setting up a website!

What very colorful and vibrant blankets, purses and other handmade items.
Living near Mexico City for a month, I can totally agree with you the taco stands on the corner are the best eats in town. And also the open markets. I loved to check out all the fresh fruit and vegetables.
