Aloha Friday Meme

Posted on September 28, 2007 - Filed Under Aloha Friday |

Ok, I´m just collecting memes these days! I guess because they seem to get a response . . .other times I feel like I´m talking to myself! So, Island Reviews (a very cool contest blog that is on my blog reader) is starting a really fun new meme called Aloha Friday where you ask a question on your blog and readers answer it. This could be great! Here´s my question:

What is your favorite childhood memory?

Mine is going to visit my grandparents at the beach. They let us dig up their yard, take spoons and yogurt containers down to the beach to catch crabs and fed us lots of fresh fruit and Oreos. It was a blast.

My favorite childhood memory is traveling every summer with my family. My father worked for the airline so we were able to fly for free. Gotta love that! Maybe that’s why I ended up being a flight attendant. hee hee

    Thanks for playing along!

My favorite memory would be walking to school with my dad. We’d walk our puppy, and when I got out of school, they’d be waiting for me to walk me home.

Just wanted to say thank you for letting me know about the Guatemalan President situation (do you know who your new one will be yet?) I appreciate your care, as I am feeling very sad and numb at the moment. I do understand that there are many evil people, not only in Guatemala, that would do such a thing as steal and sell children-but the agency we are using is not involved in such things, nor would they ever. I understand the concern and it definitely needs to be addressed, my agency has submitted themselves under the Hague (looks over adoptions of all countries, making sure things are ethical and not corrupt)…and has complied with all they have recently asked. We now are one of their approved agencies-even though that doesn’t help the present situation much. We comply with all their standards in excellence.

I am thankful for your encouragement, your blog looks great, the changes really make it pop.

Sorry to read you are having some troubles ($900) and feeling homesick for Canada. I pray that God’s hand will bless you, that His Presence and help will be very clear to you.
Hope this is all clear, not feeling really with it at this point.

I have wonderful memories of catching frogs and butterflies in our yard as a child.

I think my very best memories are of playing with my older brother. We had this basement loaded up with old junk, and we would play spies down there. There were lots of things to hide behind or somersault between as you dodged “the enemy.” We also used to play circus in our backyard. He was always the strongman, I was the tightrope walker, and we both did the trapeze. Good times!

Thanks for the memories everyone! Sounds like everyone had a great time in the good old days. :D

Kimmie, I actually don´t know who the new president will be, since I have paid very little attention to the elections, but that would be very easy to find out, I´ll just ask Irving. :D I´ve sent you an email with some links that might be helpful to your situation.

I love your response over at my place! yay! Mine is whole summers without shoes in rural Pennsylvania. Chasing fireflies at dusk. Big oak tree in Mrs Nicholas’s front yard was home base for tag. And there was homemade ice cream at least a few times…yum!

Aunt Me Me lived next to me when I was in grammar school. She had a tire swing hanging in a huge tree in her backyard. My cousin Heidi and I would sit, spin and twirl all day long. I can vividly remember sitting, leaning all the way backwards and watching the world go round upside down.
