ARRRGH

Ok, now I´m just really frustrated. My fridge arrived today. And it has two massive dents. Ok, they´re not THAT massive, but they are pretty noticable, and considering we bought a new fridge, I figured it ought to come minus the dents.

Irving called his uncle, owner of the store who sold it to us and was told that “all the fridges come like that now, since they don´t use boxes.” All fridges???? And the company continues to sell these things without boxes? If I had known the fridge would be dented, I would have just gone with a second hand one . . . I mean, what is the point? Apparently, we are going in to talk to the guy tomorrow, but Irving thinks he will just give us a discount and not replace it, since apparently the other fridge is exactly the same.

This whole house thing is getting me down. I am really wishing we had just bought one now, even if we´d gone into debt. The rooms aren´t square, the walls have holes in them (I discovered this while trying to paint, apparently the builder felt the need to poke a few holes in the walls AFTER plastering), the floor is uneven in places and the windows not only haven´t arrived (they were due Wed.) but the blacksmith won´t answer our phone calls! This is after the first blacksmith took the advance for materials and never came back. I´m just tired of it all.

I just want a decent house. That´s it. A decent house with a bathroom and a brand-new fridge that´s not dented. Is that really too much to ask? Apparently it is. And we haven´t even started on buying a stove or sofa. I can just imagine how those are going to arrive!

    Awh, that is a bummer.

I’ll share this, maybe you won’t feel like it is just you.

In our last home we had a space that would fit only a custom fridge- the space was made by the previous owner. The only one that would fit cost $1200.00 (a lot of money 8 years ago)…well 8 months after we bought it the whole roof of the icebox (freezer) cracked down the center. I called the company and they sent someone out. The fix it guy pulled freezer tape out and that was the fix. I was livid. The fix it guy said,”yeah, they don’t make them very well, they all do this now.”

We had to live with it-I growled under my breath every time I opened that door.

I really prefer to buy old things, they were made so much better!

    Oh how frustrating!

We bought a brand new refrigerator when we moved into this house a couple of months ago. It came undented — but already has a huge dent in it. (Of course no one will fess up as the culprit).

    (((HUGS)))
