Attack of the Killer Beetles

I was recently watching reruns of Supernatural and one of the very early episodes is called Bugs, where an ancient Indian curse brings up a lot of nasty insects to kill people building on sacred ground. Well, the first guy we see succumb to insects is eaten by beetles. Ha ha, right?
Guess what has been showing up in our house? Beetles. I didn´t even know this until Dante woke up covered in red blisters all over the back of his neck and shoulders. I looked through his bed, didn´t find anything and figured it was gone. But after his nap, he had new bites on his face and head and even a few on his hands. Finally, I hauled all his blankets outside and hung them up in the hot sun, dismantled his crib and took the mattress outside. We didn´t have water yesterday, so washing them wasn´t an option, though I did buy some Fido anti-flea dog shampoo (don´t laugh, it works!).
Anyway, as I hung the stuff up, a few black iridescent beetles fell out. I brushed another couple off his mattress and started to wonder if they were the culprits. When I checked the crib again, there were a few more in there. I don´t know where they came from, but I got rid of them and last night he didn´t get any new bites at all!
So, maybe that whole killer beetle thing isn´t so far fetched after all . . .

Talk to Me, People!

Uh-oh. Is your new kitchen built on some ancient burial ground?! Oh no!!!
Ewww! Yuck! Poor little guy!
We once had something biting our daughter in her crib. It left some NASTY marks…and when we found it, even out pest control guy couldn’t identify it. It looked somewhat like a silverfish or something, but with a stinger that looked like it belonged on a scorpion. Thankfully, we never saw another one.
Jessie, I hope not! As far as I know, we just have a lot of dead dogs and cats buried under us.
Janne, that sounds nasty. I´m glad our culprits were something identifiable!
