Birthday Breakfast in Bed

Posted on April 12, 2008 - Filed Under Personal |

I have a lot of work to do today. Despite my best efforts, I didn´t finish up yesterday, so I was prepared to jump out of bed this morning and buckle down, even after having hit the sack at 2 am.

But this morning, Dante woke up and started calling his brother and Dorian was calling from his room and as I pried my eyelids open, Irving jumped up, grabbed Dante and some diapers and scurried out of the room, shutting the door.

I had to get up anyway, I mean, I had to work, right? But I decided to enjoy a couple minutes of being able to lie in bed without a toddler pulling on me or having to change a habitual dirty diaper.

The next thing I knew, Irving was shaking me awake and handing me an orange juice in a disposible cup and saying, “I wanted to let you sleep more, but I know you need to work.” Then he presented me with takeout Eggs Benedict (the traditional birthday breakfast in my family), that he´d gone into Antigua to get! It turned out that I´d slept in until NINE!

So, now I have to work. But I´m totally relaxed now and feeling good! :D

Happy Birthday! We had so much going on here today I almost forgot to come here and tell you that. :) Irving was so sweet to get you your traditional birthday breakfast. I hope your whole day was wonderful, and that you got a lot of work done.

Happy birthday to you, overworked mom! How sweet of your hubby to let you get an extra sleep and breakfast in bed.

May you have many more birthdays to come.
