Christmas Goodies That Are Finally Done!

First, some yummy pics . . .

Bear cookies

Candy Cane Cookies

Dorian´s first sugar cookie

And the stockings are finally done . . .

Dante´s
Dante´s Stocking

Dorian´s
Dorian´s Stocking

These were made from thrifted material. The denim for the main part came from a denim maternity dress that I found for a few cents, the snowmen are made from old, bleached sleepers that both boys have outgrown, the red cord is from a nice shirt I found, again for pennies, and the green hat on Dante´s is from a little velvet jumper that he outgrew, the yellow scarf is from the fabric I´m making his Christmas pjs out of.

So, with four days to go, I have yet to start Dorian´s activity book (can you say a lot of LATE nights?) and the pajamas for the boys. I´d planned on doing new ones for Irving and myself as well, but I don´t think it´s going to happen. The snowflake afghan is just going to have to wait, too. I have half the motifs done, but no time to be crocheting now that I finally found my crochet hook again. :P

How is everyone else doing? Ready for Christmas? Ready to join me in a resolution to get stuff done earlier next year? ;)

TOO MUCH CUTENESS!!! Dorian looks like he’s ready to make out with that cookie rather than eat it! (I don’t blame him, I feel the same way about iced sugar cookies!) I cannot believe how good your stockings look. You came up with the whole thing yourself, too, didn’t you? I’m such a rookie, I can hardly sew anything without a pattern. I’ll be posting some quick pics of the things I’ve made sometime this weekend.
What are the candy canes made of, btw?
I’m off to the sewing machine again… I’ll be sympathizing with you about those late nights!

    Hey there, aren’t you organised!!!

Here it is, 3.55pm Sat 22nd December, and we have JUST put up the tree!!!!

So yes, I will make a resolution to make it happen a bit quicker in getting organised earlier!!!

Jessie, I was a little surprised myself that the stockings turned out ok! Patterns don´t exist down here and I couldn´t find anything I liked online, so I just invented as I went. The main sock pattern was sketched by hand and with a ruler, the snowmen are an assortment of baby food jar and other small lid tracings. The rest of it was just freehand. :O

The candy canes are colored shortbread. Super easy. :D

Bernie, you guys have an excuse, you jet setters, you!

I’ve been worried about you the last couple of days, something has been wrong with your blog & I was afraid you had cancelled it! I’m looking forward to reading all about your Christmas!

I agree with Jessica, way too much cuteness! Great shot of Dorian looking lovingly at his cookie and OMG what great sewing skills you have. The stocking is perfect! I had this guy at work sew my button back on my workshirt (hey he offered!)and refused to watch to learn how to do it myself…i said naaa, if i need another button sewn i’ll come find ya! lol… I want to learn so many things and sewing is just not one of them. Can i hire you as my seamstress when i get there??
