Clothing is Just So Last Year

Dorian has hit a new phase . . . the I-wanna-be-naked-24-7 phase. It´s so fun. Especially in a country where people consider you a terrible mother if your child isn´t bundled for the Arctic every time he goes outside . . . even if it´s sunny.
The weirdest thing is that he likes to be naked at the end of the day, once the sun has gone down and it is getting chilly out . . . and then he likes to streak outside. I will ask him if he´s cold and he hugs himself and says, “Brrr, frio, que frio, so cold.” and then runs off happily to play. Irving says he must have more Canadian genes than Guatemalan ones and I´m starting to think he´s right!
Of course, I can´t really say much because my sisters and I (one of the advantages of growing up in a female household) used to run around shirtless all summer long until we hit puberty. We lived out in the middle of nowhere, so it wasn´t like anyone was going to see us, but I guess that has somehow gotten passed down to my son. lol.
Another big difference here, just culturally, is that you won´t see guys walking around with out shirts here. They just don´t do it. Back in Canada, on a hot day, you´re bound to see a half dozen men shirtless in the street. Dorian might have to move to Canada when he gets a bit older.

I LOVE this phase! Grayson used to run in front of any reflective surface and yell “Naked Boy!” as he watched himself dance. Boys are so much fun!
Yup, it´s pretty funny. Dorian recently rediscovered mirrors, too and he often stops in front of our full-length mirror to make faces at himself and fool around. Then he gets embarrassed when we catch him!
too funny…my sister was a “nudist” when she was little, my mum was always scrambling to get to the door before the naked toddler. lol

I’m still laughing! My son loves his naked time! When i look through the photo albums at my mom’s house…there’s me…naked on the rocking horse wearing just a holster and a cowboy hat…naked on the tire swing…sliding down the slide with a sundress on and ooops…no panties! I wonder wear he gets it. Kids just love being naked!
