Deck the Halls and Baby

And don´t forget the cereal. Yesterday, Dorian found the gold glitter. Which should have been in the craft box, but for some reason was under the tv.
He first dumped some on the floor, then tried to hastily clean it up. I put the glitter on the counter and cleaned it up off the floor.
Dorian got the glitter off the counter (he´s growing too fast), and, while I was writing articles in the other room, emptied it into his rice cereal. Which resembles super glue when dry. He then decided to decorate his baby brother, who apparently was more than willing to be glittered because I seriously didn´t hear a peep out of him.
Then Irving called and I walked into a glittery wonderland to get the phone. Sparkly cereal, sparkly Dorian and a very well decorated infant in his bouncy chair. Not to mention the glitter that stuck in drops of rice cereal to the floor.
It took an hour to clean up most of it, but as any mother knows, once glitter escapes, it is always around. Our new chairs and sofa have a holiday look to them now, so I guess it´s good this happened so close to Christmas. I did try to take pictures of my glittery baby, but you can´t see the sparkle in the photos. Dorian´s bed is full of glitter, it´s in everyone´s hair and stuck into the cracks in the floor. sigh.

Oh it sounds so pretty, wish you could have captured it…sounds like a life size snow globe.
If it makes you feel better, I did a paper project last week (angels) …my 13 year old put the glitter on (being helpful she said)…before we were finished painting, so as we flipped them…the glitter happily flung themselves in all the grooves of the floor, on the table…yup, today I was vacuuming and I saw more glitter…tis the season!

hahaha! I know it wasn’t funny at the time, but this is one of those moments that will be priceless in your memories. When Dorian’s twelve and wants to know why you bought furniture that glitters, you can tell him that it was he who made it so! It’ll tell a story just like the paint splotches all over my kitchen table.
