Delicious Thanksgiving Food

It all started early in the morning with this . . .

bread rising

And this:

squash

Which yielded a lot of this:

seeds and pulp

To be cleaned

and soaked for roasting tomorrow.

I sent Irving for these:

tomatoes

The bread came out of the oven.

Odds and ends were sauteed in butter . . .

And were added to the bread to get this:

stuffing

While working on the pie crust . . .

A friendly neighbor stopped in for a visit.

I found this a couple weeks ago in the store, so we had to have some . . . I haven`t eaten cranberry sauce in 7 years!

The chicken was carefully rubbed with garlic herb butter under the skin and roasted. This was the end result:

Potatoes were mashed, salad was tossed and Tadah!

Thanksgiving dinner

It was enjoyed by everyone except Dorian who ate only a couple of olives and a bite of mashed potatoes. Dante made up for him though.

We all had pie (except Dorian).

Happy Thanksgiving!! Mmmm! Who needs lunch? I’ll just go ‘feast’ on those pics again! We recently had cranberry sauce, although we usually reserve it for holidays. My daughter loves it, and as she was in a grumpy mood the other day I used it to make her happy. I was fixing a meal she is so-so about, and when I opened the pantry and saw the can, I thought I’d add it, just as a fun surprise. My husband thought it was strange - cranberry served with beef - but Honor was thrilled, turned her whole mood around, and that had been my goal. Who needs ice cream? ;-D

Wow, Genesis! You rock! You should be very proud of yourself for pulling off a meal like that!

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone. It was a lot of fun to spend the day making great food! And Dennis, Spiderman just SEEMS to be everywhere, he`s actually only on one cup. ;) All our plastic Spiderman stuff went missing for mudpies and such.
