Dream Day English, Anyone?

Posted on February 20, 2008 - Filed Under Guatemala |

I discovered the game Dream Day Honeymoon a while back, but Irving just rediscovered it . . . and he´s TOTALLY addicted. To the point of playing it instead of eating! It´s so funny to see him hunting through a dress shop, looking for that elusive maple leaf. :D

However, the game is in English. Which means that as I try to write blogs or make dinner, I´m constantly being asked, “¿Que es twine?” There are at least 5 words on every list that he doesn´t understand. It can be a bit tiresome to translate all day long . . . but then I realized . . . he´s learning new vocabulary. And in the best way possible!

If I were still teaching English, I´d be using this game to help my students pick up more vocabulary because it´s fun and visual, something that really helps with word retention. At least now when we visit Canada, Irving will be able to talk about candlesticks, wallets and lighthouses!

Oh, that’s funny. I don’t know that game, I’ll have to look it up.
And guess what… I tagged you again!
