Confused about things on the blog? No worries, here’s a FAQ to help you out.
1. What are you doing in Guatemala? Are you missionaries?
Nope, we’re just regular people. I came down here on my way to Brazil, met and fell in love with Irving and here I stayed!
2. Are you ever going home?
To tell the truth, Guatemala IS my home now. I’ve been here most of my adult life!
3. Why does Dorian have these health issues?
Dorian was born with an imperforate anus, that is, no anal opening. He had to have surgery at one day old to give him a colostomy, another to create an anus at 6 months and yet another surgery at 13 months to close the colostomy. He is currently like any other child, but has difficulties with constipation, which we control through diet. He just recently had another surgery due to an adhesion that created an intestinal blockage.
4. Why aren’t there any photos of your children on your blog?
I used to put photos on my blog and if you go back to the early days of the posts, you’ll still see some. These days, I have photos only in password protected posts because of a situation in October 2010, where a fellow blogger was captured by the FBI and the subsequent aftermath where people began to attack me and my blogging. Being that I live in a fairly small community, I didn’t want to put my kids in danger and chose to hide their pictures from these nasty people.
5. How do I get the password?
You can email me at freelanceprowriter AT gmail.com with proof that you’re not a stalker.
This can be as simple as linking to a blog you already have or letting me know what your Facebook is (not to befriend you, just to see that you’re a person.
6. Why is there a big gap between your old posts and your newer ones?
That’s for the same reasons listed above. I actually took my entire blog offline for a while and am still working through older posts, deciding which ones can be shown and which need to be private.
7. What am I missing if I don’t get the password?
Photos of the boys. That’s it. I put everything else up for the world to see, but photos with their faces are hidden. So, if you don’t want to get the password, that’s not a problem, you’ll still get all my awesome (haha) writing and photos of everything that they aren’t in.
8. I’m coming to Antigua, can we meet?
Certainly! I love meeting my blog readers and if the dates work out, I’m more than happy to meet up with you in Antigua.
