Going Back to Mother´s Group

Posted on January 31, 2008 - Filed Under Guatemala, Kids |

When Dorian was just tiny, my friend, Julie and I decided to start a mother´s group for expat moms. We put up a few announcements and were contacted by a group that was already in existence! It was great, there was a good mix of parents and the ages of the younger children were pretty much in sync with our little ones.

After nearly a year, the group kind of dissolved, due to everyone getting busy and then Julie moved back to Australia and since then, I haven´t really had contact with anyone. However I do know that two of the moms had babies around the same time that Dante was born, so there is a new bunch of little ones for him to play with.

The other day, I was in Antigua with Irving and one of the moms stopped in her car to let me know that the group was starting up again. Today is the first time we´ll be going back and it has been a whole year since we last saw these kids! I´m excited because Dorian is now at the age that he really enjoys playing with other kids and there are a bunch that are the same age as him. Also, this could be very good because all the others are bilingual, too! :D

It will also be interesting to see the “new” babies (one just turned a year old, they aren´t exactly little!) that Dante will be growing up with if we stay in contact this time. It should be a lot of fun.  We´ll be meeting up at a hotel that has a playground today, a place that Dorian absolutely loves. Not sure whether he´s going to be more excited about the other kids or the fact that he can climb and slide and swing! And, this will be the first time I´ve taken both boys to the park . . . we´ll see how that goes, trying to deal with two squirmy little people . . . though I suspect Dante will be happy to sit in the grass and try to eat it. :D

Updates later!
