We were in Panajachel last fall helping to give out chickens with Becky Hilfer (creator of the 'Bucks for Clucks' program) and it was a blast! It was wonderful to see the women so happy and grateful for the chickens. To donate on the Mayan Familes web site, it is the community aid program, and there is a place to make a note that it is for the chicken program. They generally try to give 10 chickens and a bag of feed to each family. For those that want to know more of the details in the background of Mayan Families, there is a yahoo group "Mayan Families Connection", where you can read about the latest projects and activites. Cos you know, I'm a millionaire and one chicken is no biggie for me. BUT I went to the site and they had this field for all sort of stuffs: General, Education, Community Aid etc... I'm thinking maybe community aid since it does mention 'chicken' on it, but I'm double checking with you. Yeah, I'm a bimbo millionaire. I know.
