Guatemalan Colors

I just love the colors here, they seem so much more vivid than back in Canada. While at the market yesterday, I took a lot of photos, so I`ll be sharing them little by little since I don`t want to play tourist too often.

They open a watermelon and cut out a little piece for potential buyers to prove to you how delicious it is.

Stacks of bananas, each stack costs 5Q, or about 75 cents . . . they used to be just 2Q a year ago.

Need a clothesline? Why settle for dull white or black? Go for gusto with some bright Guatemalan lines!

If no one is coming in to your fabric store, a good way to tempt them is to block their way with a dolly full of nice cloth on rolls!

Mangoes are in season here right now and they are just so lovely with their flushed golden skins. Too bad I detest the taste and texture . . . though the boys gobble them up like mad.

Even the towels are bright and exciting!

I love all the color
Nice photos too.
Great photos!
I have to have that Virgin Mary towel, never seen one before – so cool – my hubby is getting a tat of her, so we are always on the lookout for Virgin Mary pics.
Jane, you`ll find plenty of Virgin Mary things down here, she`s even on nailclippers!
I’m not sure I’d be comfortable rubbing Virgin Mary on my tush or having Virgin Mary handle my cuticles, haha. I love your pics and the colour bursting out of it!
Speaking of probably inappropriate pedicures, we went to the Giza zoo today, and one of the zoo keepers was sitting outside of his assigned enclosure, digging at his bare feet with a knife. How’s that for a Kodak moment??
WOW! Love the picture of the colored line for hanging clothes.
