Gummy Bears Make Boys Eat Veggies

Well, they do if your kids have never had gummy bears before.
Irving came across this cute video the other day.
There are a bunch of them that turn pop songs into gummy songs, but this one is really fun. The boys were enamored.
Soooo … I took full advantage and this was their lunch for the day.

Since they had no idea that gummy bears are candy, they were thrilled and thought they were eating the real thing. Bad Mama . . . but they ate half a cuke between them!
I used mini bento cutters to make the bears.

Talk to Me, People!

Well, you just go ahead and be a bad mama! A Mama´s gotta do what a Mama´s gotta do!
Way back when Big Macs were served in foam containers, my SIL would wash and reuse this container for my nephew´s lunch. This went of for about a year, because, a some behavioral scientists just discovered: vegetables taste better when kids associate them with cartoon characters (or with a junk food, as my SIL found out).
My kids liked peas when they were little, right out of the garden. Some kinds have such a high sugar content that the kids thought they were candy. I found peas to be a good teaching tool as well, they sprout in a few days, grow fast, have flowers that look like flowers and are done in 50-60 days, it is easy to teach about how plants grow with peas. Peas do well in flower pots. The look on their face when they pop the first fresh pea in their mouth is priceless. Sugar tastes good.
My sisters and I used to eat peas out of the garden, too. I’ve tried three times to grow them here, but the ants always eat the roots . . . guess they like them too.
That is very creative!
I think the mini bento cutters would be my new best friends if my kids were little. Have to remember that for my nieces and nephews!
I noticed that I cannot share to Facebook from your blog. Sometimes I would like to share a post of yours on my face.
I have to figure out how to put that Like button on here . . . in the meantime, you can copy and paste the link of the blog post into your Facebook and it will automatically pull up the blog post.
