Happy Father´s Day

Posted on June 17, 2008 - Filed Under Guatemala |

You probably think I´m nuts, but it´s actually Father´s day today here in Guatemala. Irving became a father-to-be five years ago, when I discovered I was pregnant for the first time. Unfortunately, we lost that baby and two more after that, but it only made us so much more appreciative when the fourth pregnancy stuck and Dorian was born! And, just 16 months later, Dante arrived, making Irving a two time dad.

From a guy who wanted to have FIFTEEN kids to a man who is thrilled with just two, Irving has really come into his own with his sons. He is an amazing dad, doing absolutely everything for his boys. From the beginning, he´s been a very hands on father, changing diapers, staying up all night to look after a colicky baby to let me sleep, rocking his sons in his arms when they couldn´t sleep and taking them with him just about everywhere, even music practice, from the time they were tiny.

So, Happy Father´s Day, Irving! Feliz Dia del Padre.
