I Broke My Floor

My new floor is broken and it wasn´t even the fault of the builders. I´m very sad right now, since this is just yet another imperfection in a series of them.
What happened is this, the stupid neighbor dogs were jumping over the piece of tin that the neighbors put to “block” them in. I went out after both had jumped noisily over it and guess what I found? A table on the other side. Just the right size for the dogs to hop up on so they can jump over the fence. So, not only is this woman NOT stopping her dogs from getting over here, she´s HELPING them!
So, I decided to cut barbed wire from other parts of the fence, which the neighbor had put up. They put the barbed wire on our side, I suppose because we´re so darn dangerous, and then covered their side with bits of corrugated tin. So I went out and knocked the table over so the dogs can´t climb up on it and then cut a bunch of the barbed wire from the rest of the fence and coiled it around pieces of rebar that I stuck into the ground. Now I had this great idea which in retrospect wasn´t such a great idea, to balance this metal bar on the windowsill, aiming down, to support the wire at an angle so they really couldn´t jump there. While, for some unknown reason, Irving put my old, non-working sewing machine on that windowsill and when I pushed the bar up, it hit the machine, which smashed into tiny bits on my brand-new floor. Breaking a big chunk out of the corner of one tile. sob.

Sigh…so sorry to hear that. I can almost feel your frustration over here. Tell them that they’re suppose to be ‘your elders’ and that they should act mature!
Sometimes everything seems so “two steps forward, one step back” Of course it is frustration that it is your neighbors/relatives that are forcing you into it. As Gloria said they are your elders and should act more mature! I know that they don’t pay heed to you, but will they at least listen to your husband?
Thanks for the understanding. They listen to my husband even less . . . he is pretty quiet and doesn´t like to make waves, something I seem to be very good at!
