I Ought to Be in Bed

Posted on January 25, 2008 - Filed Under Kids, Mom Stuff |

The most incredible, bizarre thing happened tonight.

Dorian threw a tantrum (no, that´s not bizarre) at about 6:50 and I said, “Ok, I think it´s about time to put you to bed.” Normally, this is where things go from bad to worse. He flips out, screams, throws things . . . etc. etc.

Not tonight. I went to get his bottle of water that he sleeps with, went into his room to get out his pjs and he walked in, climbed up onto the bed and tucked himself in! I had to untuck him to get his shoes off and change his diaper! Then I kissed him goodnight and left and he STAYED IN BED! I think this is a first in the history of Dorian! He started talking about ten minutes later, but only for a few seconds and he is actually asleep.

Dante fell asleep at the in-laws` and went from there to bed and is asleep, too.  This is unprecedented. . . it is 7:30 and both boys are sleeping. I could totally go to bed tonight! Early! But I´m torn because I have 19 articles to write, plus another 10 that are coming in tomorrow and Irving is leaving at 8 am and won´t be home until Sunday morning. So I ought to get some blogs done up tonight so I can relax a bit tomorrow and focus on the articles . . . but bed is SOOOOOO tempting!

HALF you luck!!! We are minding Riley this weekend, a long weekend for Australia Day, as his mum & dad have gone to the Hunter Valley (NSW Wine district) for a concert…
Well from the time we picked him up at 10.30 this morning (like 12 hours ago) apart from the 2 hours sleep in the car, time spent in the bath and a 90 nap, he has done NOTHING but scream!!! He is not hungry, wet or dirty. He has been burped so no wind… And L is now saying that she no longer wants a baby :) !!! lol lol lol
He is now fast asleep, after taking him for a walk in his pram and with him screaming in the night air… 40 mins later, pushing zzzzzz’s. Perhaps thats where we should be now??? Good luck with the writing…

LOL! That´s partly cuz he´s not yours, if I´m not mistaken, Riley is right at the age where separation anxiety sets in. So your own baby would do that with everyone else at that age. ;)

That’s what I keep telling L!! He is 5 months now, just started solids, and apparently, has now not opend his bowels for a couple of days. He is trying, but there isn’t anything coming out…
I will be going to the Chemist soon to see what they have for him… And her sister just called (6th call in 24 hours, so I do not know WHO is missing WHO the most…) and she will take him to the doctors when they get home…
