If You’re Coming to Guatemala. . .

Posted on March 8, 2010 - Filed Under Guatemala, Personal | 1 Comment

About a month back, I got an email from a reader saying she was coming down and asking if she could bring anything for me or the boys. I (not so) promptly requested books, since English books for kids are really hard to find here. This past Saturday, Dorian and I headed to the park to meet up with her and discovered that her son had sent down some of his old books that he thought the boys might like. And like them, they did! Dante pored over the firetruck book, while Dorian was stuck on space,  and we’ve been reading fairy tales every night before bed. In short, they were a huge hit!

It’s so neat when people want to bring things down and I really, really appreciate it. The biggest problem I’ve run into is being able to think of something in the moment, though I usually have a list in my head when no one is coming this way!

With that in mind, I’ve started a wishlist page on this blog, which you’ll see to the right in the sidebar. If anyone is heading this way and has a little extra space in their suitcase, we’d be THRILLED to fill your luggage up. ;)
