Just Like Dorian
Posted on October 21, 2007 - Filed Under Kids |
Dante wants to do everything Dorian does now. That includes eating, playing with cars, sitting up and even going outside. Unfortunately, he is only five months old.
Dorian is quite willing to share his food. Just this morning, Irving had the boys on the bed and Dorian was eating some bread. When Dante reached for it, I guess he just handed it over. I was working on the computer, so I didn´t really notice. Then Irving put Dante in his bouncy seat and when I looked down, he was munching away on the bread! He actually bit (with his two little teeth) some pieces off and ATE them! I´m amazed he didn´t choke. Both Irving and Dorian were scolded and lectured on the safety of giving a baby bread.
When it comes to cars . . . Dorian is NOT so likely to share. He has this little orange forklift that Dante has been coveting for a few days now and every time Dante closes a pudgy fist around it, Dorian rushes to take it away. We´ve tried substituting other cars for this forklift, but no, it has to be the orange forklift . . . for both of them!
Finally, today, Dorian was off doing other things, so Dante got to play with the forklift. He promptly hit himself in the head with it and burst into tears. A few minutes later, quite calm, he accidentally tossed it out of reach and again, burst into tears.
Is it just me or is this a really tough stage of babyhood? They want to do so much, but can´t do anything!
