Ketchup is Good on Hot Dogs . . . and Babies, Too

Irving brought me a giant hot dog when he arrived at 4 am this morning, and it came with extra packets of ketchup. Healthy as it sounds, the boys and I had the hot dog for breakfast (hey, it was just sitting there, waiting to be eaten, as opposed to the oatmeal, which required cooking) and Dorian, with his constant fascination for ketchup, wanted to suck it out of the packets.
He had his ketchup and that was that. Until about 11 am.
Dante came crawling at a fast pace around the edge of the armchair and I thought he´d been punched in the face, he was all bloody, his nose, his mouth, his ears . . . then I realized it was ketchup. Dorian had apparently found one last packet and rather than eat it (because that would just be too ordinary), he decided to decorate his brother.
After cleaning the kid up (and forgetting to take pictures), he scooted off again. And ten minutes later . . . he was covered in orange juice. I swear, Dorian is going to be a food artist or a tatoo artist later in life. He is constantly drawing on Dante (found yellow and green crayon scribbles on Dante´s nearly bald scalp the other day) and smearing food on him! And yes, I do keep an eye on them, but it´s positively amazing how quickly a toddler can cover his brother in messy stuff in the minute or two that they are out of sight behind the sofa!

Oh, my goodness. I bet you panicked when you saw all that “blood.” I would have!
To make you feel better, I don’t think any of us are opposed to a hot dog for breakfast if it means we don’t have to cook anything! I would eat almost anything if it just magically appeared for me like that.
Jessica, I´m glad I´m not the only one who goes for the instant food.
And, the “blood” did give me a start, but I worked as a first aid attendant/paramedic for close to 3 years, so I only tend to panic after the fact. lol
