Love`s True Kiss

Anyone who has ever seen Enchanted knows the power of Love`s True Kiss. It`s pretty potent! You can even bring someone back to the dead (if you kiss them before midnight, that is) after they`ve foolishly bitten into a poison apple offered by an old hag.

Dorian loves this movie and can sing along with many of the songs. Yesterday, he took it to a whole new level, pretending to faint on the floor. When I didn`t run to him, he said, “Mama! I fell!” I went to lift him up and he closed his eyes and pretended he was dead. So I made a fuss about it and scooped him up . . . he`s a really good actor! I was surprised that he managed to continue his charade as I placed him on the sofa, completely limp, eyes shut tight, working very hard not to laugh as I called Dante over to see what we could do about his poor dead brother!

Well, after trying a few things, it occurred to me that perhaps he just needed a kiss to wake up. So I kissed him and PRESTO! He woke up. ;)

It`s nice to know that I`m still his One True Love. I`m sure I`ll be replaced by a younger model at some point, but for now I`m relishing the fact that it`s my kiss alone that can wake my fainted child.

Honor loves that movie too - it is really sweet! - and while she hasn’t got the words memorized, she uses the tunes to make her own songs. And yes, my little sleeping beauty has needed many a true love kiss to wake her up :-)

My daughter loves enchanted and YES, we do re-enact the kiss scene a LOT! Our DVD of Enchanted is being played over and over (and over x 100x) that in a couple of months, it will be half as thin with friction!
