My Little Boy is Growing Up

Posted on June 14, 2008 - Filed Under Kids |

This has been a rather Dorian-focused, so I´m going to finish it up with one last Dorian post. :)

Today marks the first day that Dorian has headed off on his own to spend the morning with friends elsewhere. His cousin, Zanelle, has a futbol (soccer) game in honor of Father´s Day and since she doesn´t have a father, Irving´s dad is standing in. And Dorian was invited to go along. He´s quite excited.

He came running back to the house to get changed and when Irving asked him if he wanted to take his bottle with him Dorian gave him a look (Duh, Papa, I´m a BIG boy now) and took off running to go “see Zanelli ball”.

Dorian has visited Zanelle at her house nearly every day since he could walk, or they play here, but going out to watch a futbol game is quite another experience. And he didn´t hesitate for a second to take off, leaving his poor parents behind! I´m glad though. He´s growing up and he´s happy doing it.

    Hi, Expat Mom,

We let go in stages, don’t we? I know it’s hard. My little one is getting not so little; will be starting middle school in the fall (sigh).

As if he would take his bottle with him… I bet he had it when he got home though, and heaven forbid if you said it was no longer!!!
