Our Weird Water Situation

We finally have running water after two years of living here on the piece of land that Irving´s parents gave to us. Unfortunately, our tubes come directly from theirs, which means that if I turn on my water, they don´t get any!
The water pipes were my birthday gift from my guy, I was so desperate to have water with a tap instead of a hose that I had to walk up to the other house to connect! Plus, they kept disconnecting the water on me! So, I finally have my water pipes, albeit on top of the ground, but they work and they are connected to my pila tap. (A pila is a sort of washing cistern, by the way)
Anyway, the day after I had my pipes installed, my in-laws installed a tap so they could turn my water off when they wanted to! Back to square one! On top of all this, during the dry season we only get two to three hours of water a day. Needless to say, this can be very frustrating, if you have your water turned off for 75% of that time.
Well, the rainy season started a couple of weeks ago, so supposedly, we ought to have water all the time. But the powers that be have decided that we should only have water when it is raining. Which is kind of useless since no one has dryers here and so all the clothing has to be hung up outside to dry. And when are you going to do your wash? When it is sunny, duh!
My pila is out in the middle of a field anyway, so I couldn´t wash while it was raining, anyhow. Ah, the so-called “simple” life. What a joke!
