Rest in Peace, Sofia

My little niece died tonight. She was doing great, but suddenly had problems breathing and wouldn’t eat today and tonight we got the call.

We never got to meet this little angel, but her parents got to spend time with her. We know that she had Crouzon’s Syndrome, which is not usually fatal, but we don’t know what happened in the hospital. There were not many answers given to the questions asked. Unfortunately, this is a genetic issue and it will affect Sofia’s parents’ decision to have more children.

Heaven gained another angel tonight and I’d like to think her cousins and my sister, Rachel, were waiting up there to give her a warm welcome. Her family here on Earth will miss her dearly.

UPDATE: The death certificate was given to the family and the cause of death was pneumonia.
