Say Hello to My Leetle Friend

Last night, I went out to the bathroom, turned on the light, shut the door and was kamikazied by a bat. I ran out to grab my camera and came back to find the little guy warming himself by the lightbulb.

I didn’t realize until later what a cheeky little fellow he was, take a look . . .

bat grinning

Not ONLY is he grinning at me, he’s sticking out his tongue! Right after this pic, he flew off out the door again.

So you´re not gonna have insects then!! Kind of like not having mice because you had a snake in your backyard. Makes you rethink Pest Management.

Oh he’s cute. We’ve had fruit bats in our chimney twice since we moved into our house. Both times my husband was away and I was the girl of the moment who had to catch them. I seriously thought of keeping them, as they are so cute. There faces are a cross between a cat and a mouse…but with wings.

Glad yours got out on his own.

I seem to recall you posted photos of the last bat that got into your chimney, Kimmie. They are very cute! I’ve always liked bats, to tell you the truth, thanks to my mom making them a fascinating experience when they got stuck in our house.

eeee! I would have screamed and hurried back into the house… I dunno why I am so scared of them, they are actually good for the environment. I guess it is the old wive’s tale of getting them caught in my hair that kind of freaks me out. But I do admit, in the summer it is fascinating watching them come out at dusk and dive bombing all those insects…

I like bats, but I still don’t like them divebombing my head! :D It happened to me again tonight. I think it’s the same little guy . . . 3 nights in a row now!

I think you need to put a sign on the door – reminding you to “knock first, then duck!” :D He is very, very cute! So, have you named him yet?

Nope, no name, just “El Murcielago”. :D

Dingbat! :D He is so cute. Make him help around the house earning his keeps by scaring away all those insects and spiders.
