I would have screamed and hurried back into the house... I dunno why I am so scared of them, they are actually good for the environment. I guess it is the old wive's tale of getting them caught in my hair that kind of freaks me out. But I do admit, in the summer it is fascinating watching them come out at dusk and dive bombing all those insects... eeee! They are very cute! I've always liked bats, to tell you the truth, thanks to my mom making them a fascinating experience when they got stuck in our house. We've had fruit bats in our chimney twice since we moved into our house. Both times my husband was away and I was the girl of the moment who had to catch them. I seriously thought of keeping them, as they are so cute. There faces are a cross between a cat and a mouse...but with wings. Glad yours got out on his own.
