So, Homecooked is OK? Picky Eater Problems Solved!

Dorian used to be one of those babies who ate everything. He gobbled down everything from cheese to bread and fruits and veggies. Then he turned one and that all stopped. I partly blame his final surgery for this . . . we had him on a very limited diet while his intestines healed and when he came off it, he was very particular about his food.
After yesterday`s bakefest, I figured I`d be the only one eating the stuff. Sure enough, Dorian took one bite of the lime squares and handed it back, making a face and saying, “No thank you.” So I figured that was it . . . the sweets were the most likely to be accepted.
I was so wrong. This morning, I sliced myself some bread and spread some honey on it. Dorian asked me for some, so I gave him mine, confident that I`d be getting it right back. But no. A few minutes later, he came running over, licking his lips and asking for more. He ate TWO more slices! He never eats that much!
Then, this evening, I was having a bagel with cream cheese and guess who wanted to try it? That`s right. My picky eater. Who proceeded to eat almost an entire bagel on his own! I couldn`t be more surprised.
It`s been a long time since I`ve baked anything of substance, but apparently, I need to do it more often. If it means Dorian will eat something besides peanuts and carrots, that would be great!

My daughter went from eating squash, sugar snap peas, and all things veggie to refusing them in about a month’s time. She just refused them. It was the oddest thing. She still won’t eat them, but luckily she LOVES broccoli.
