Still in THAT Mood

It just doesn`t end. And nothing of interest has occurred around here to fascinate my readers with, so you`re stuck with yet another boring blog post made up of random assortments of . . . well, you`ll see.
First off, I just want to thank everyone for their prayers, Dorian woke up the next morning fever-free and bouncing off the walls. I think we can safely say (knock on wood) that Mama with her eternal cough is the only semi-sick person around and truthfully I`m not even sure I`m sick or if I`m just doomed to cough my life away, since both my dad and my grandfather do the same thing. Anyway.
I`ve been trying to snap decent photos of my kids for a week now . . . you know, to send to the grandparents and wow people here on my blog. This is what I`m getting.

In this last picture, the boys were sitting next to each other all cute like and as soon as I aimed the camera at them, this is what they did. I swear, they`re cameraphobic. Or maybe they`ve realized that I fully intend to use those cozy shots as blackmail when they are older and hate each other.
I did, however, get a great shot of Dorian`s new car.

When my sister comes down, someday in the future, I`ve asked her to bring some metal cars because these cheap (30 cents) plastic cars fall apart in ten minutes and then I spend five days trying to explain how I don`t have magic plastic melding powers in my fingertips, even though I AM Supermom. Then I throw it out when they aren`t looking. And then they find it in the garbage when they`re looking for things to play with or tossing banana peels and decide that I broke it just to throw it out . . . I must remember to only toss toys on garbage day. You can see why metal ones would be a little easier.
For the first day of spring, we did nothing. Then, at like 5:30, the boys decided they really, really wanted to paint. Not my favorite right-before-bedtime activity. But you know, it was the first day of spring, so I contained the mess by having them paint egg carton caterpillars.

Dorian takes his art very seriously. He was actually overjoyed to be painting and loved his final product, but you`d never know it from this photo that looks like he was forced to create a million caterpillars while being held captive in a Guatemalan prison. And if you`re wondering about his wonky ribs there . . . that`s from the colostomy surgeries, he`s actually got a big scar on that side that isn`t visible in this photo.

Dante was too busy squishing his caterpillar and eating its googly eyes to stop for a photo. Here I made him hold still by grabbing the caterpillar, but his mind was already on the next part of the house to devastate.
That pretty much sums up my week . . . how was yours?

Talk to Me, People!

“Mum’s posed to take pictures.”
“Quick! Fall apart about the same time as the shutter speeds!”
Glad to hear that everyone is getting better, and that you’re only semi-sick as oppose to being fully sick.
Dante’s caterpillar must be an army issue, he’s settling on a camouflage design.
What you don`t see, Gloria, is the extensive paint on the INSIDE of the caterpillar. He stippled the outside and then put all his attention on the inside part, he did a good job of painting it all green.
Glad to hear the boys are doing better – and hope you do too, and soon. My hubby has been fighting a chest/cough thing for 2 weeks now. He stayed home yesterday. I told him not to come home sick today unless he sees a doctor first. Sometimes, you really do need to go get the antibiotics.
I love the catepillars. Looks like a good Easter activity, and since my kids are home on Spring Break, I may have to show this to them
