The Very Hungry Boy

Dante has recently not been satisfied with any amount of milk. Finally, we decided to try him with some solids. He´s young, just turned 4 months, but Dorian started at the same age, so it seemed like it was worth a try.
You know how babies usually dribble their food out and end up swallowing very little when they first start out? Well, my boys, both of them, have never done that. They start gulping their food right off a spoon and Dorian progressed to lumpy food by 5 months and chunks by 7. Of course, he also had teeth by the time he was 3 months old, which helped.
Anyway. I started Dante on rice cereal because I had some in the house for Dorian (his absolute favorite breakfast is baby cereal!). He stuck his tongue out and tasted the cereal, then opened his mouth wide for more. After that, he just gobbled down the teaspoon or so that I had prepared. We tried again the next day, with the same results, except that he screamed when the small amount of cereal was done!
Now, we´re up to two feeds a day and Dante is MUCH happier. I think he just wasn´t getting full on milk. So, now, he is drinking a bit less (still up there, though!) and eating and he is happy. And growing like a weed. I think he will be catching up to Dorian pretty fast and he is getting awfully fat. That´s good though, because Dorian was always scrawny after his surgeries and after the last one, he never regained that cute baby fat.
So, that´s one problem solved. Of course, now breakfast and dinner takes extra long because I have to spoonfeed someone again. Sigh. I was just getting used to having Dorian eating on his own.
