Things I Never Thought I´d Say

You know how, when you´re a kid, you think, “I´m never going to be like my mom. I´m not ever going to tell my kids that and I´ll let them eat cake for breakfast!” Well, ok, I do occasionally let my kids have cake for breakfast. 
But my point is, you think you´ll do everything so differently . . .
Here are a few things I´ve caught myself saying that are straight out my my parents´ mouths:
“Go play outside. You need some fresh air.”
“Pick that up right now or you´re going to bed!”
“This isn´t a restaurant, you eat what I give you or don´t eat anything.”
“Close the fridge! You want to refridgerate the whole country?”
“Where are my scissors? I swear, you kids lose EVERYTHING!”
“No, you can only have ONE cookie. That´s it. No more. Not two, not three, ONE.”
“That´s it. I´ve had it with you! No stories tonight!”
” Get your butt in the tub before I put it there myself!”
“Come here right this second or I´m coming to get you and you DO NOT want that!”
“Why don´t you go run off some steam outside?”
“You kids are so SILLY!”
“What´s all this? Who made this mess?”
“I don´t care who started it, it´s over. No more fighting.”
“Ok, you two, that´s enough. Chill out time.”
I could go on and on, but you get the point. The worst part is . . . I´m afraid it will only get worse as they get older!

I know exactly what you mean.
If that’s not bad enough, I’ve even begun using a couple of things my mother~in~law used with WonderHubby.
~And I certainly don’t want to be like her!
That’s the truth! There are so many things I wasn’t going to repeat. I think I’ve done most of them already. I was NOT going to be strict about my kids’ tv or music, and would NOT send them to private school. It’s funny how things change when you’re in charge of these little guys’ destiny.
And so it continues…
In the years to come, I BET that the boys will say EXACTLY the same thing… !!!!
I also bet, one thing you will say to them both, is ‘why is your room SUCH a mess, and open a window why don’t you”!
