Thirteen Reasons It´s Good to Have Boys
Posted on November 7, 2007 - Filed Under 13 Things |
When I was pregnant with Dante, everyone kept saying, “Oh, maybe this time you´ll be lucky and have a girl!” But I didn´t want a girl, I wanted a boy. So, for today´s Thursday Thirteen, I present a list of reasons why it´s great to have boys.
1. I grew up with 3 sisters and no brothers. I´m sick of girls.
2. I hate pink. I wear a lot of blue, so we always match.
3. Nothing is sweeter than a toddler in jean coveralls.
4. I will never be called on to do fancy stuff with hair. I can barely braid my own, so that´s a very good thing.
5. Supposedly, I will worry less. I´m not sure about that, since I do worry a lot, but maybe I´d be more worried with a girl.
6. Looks like my boys will be tall, so they can reach stuff for me on the top shelves.
7. There´s a special bond between moms and sons . . . that´s already evident between Dorian and me.
8. Both of them are obsessed with cars . . . very easy to buy gifts for.
9. Boys don´t care about clothes, so I can keep picking their stuff for years to come.
10. I was always a tomboy, I don´t really do makeup or dolls and I have no idea what I would do with a girly girl.
11. With two boys so close in age, I can be sure that they will look out for one another.
12. Boys like to eat. I like to cook. It works out just fine.
13. My PMS is bad enough for the whole household, we don´t need to add any more of THAT to the mix!

Until I had my daughter… I always thought that it would be nice to have all boys so that I would always be queen of the house. Not a bad idea to have ALL the guys doing stuff for you!
You know with three girls, I can definetly see the difference in my son. I love having a boy. When he crawls up in my lap, and he still tries to even at almost 8, when he cuddles, it was really different than my girls.
And be thankful for #13. It had me cracking up because I think that’s one reason why me and my teenage daughter’s attitudes mesh at ceartain times of the month.
That is so true about clothes. He has his jeans and a tshirt and he’s happy. My teenage daughter, shoes, skirt, dress, capris….Oh my!!
I’m with you! I wouldn’t mind a girl someday, but I LOVE my boys. There’s nothing like a couple of boys who are in love with their momma!
BOYS ARE GREAT!! YAY BOYS!
