This Place is Hopping!

So, one unexpected side effect of trying to do everything seems to be less time for blogging. Oops! There’s a lot going on . . .
I’m still stunned by the amount of work coming in. Seriously, if I turn one project in, I get orders for three more. As you can imagine, this grows exponentially and I’m a writing machine these days!
Dorian got very sick yet again, so we didn’t do school yesterday, but instead I was typing, running to help him puke, cleaning vomit, etc. You know, typical mom stuff. Dante was unhappy, not sure if he wasn’t feeling well or was just overtired and jealous. He wanted nothing to do with anything! So Irving took him out for ice cream and he came back a bit happier, but got very upset in the evening when he discovered that Dorian was sleeping with me again. As I put him to bed, he sobbed that he wanted me to sleep with HIM. So I put everything else aside, lay down with him until he slept and slipped out again. He was much happier for it and I didn’t really miss anything, so I’m glad I didn’t give in to my first instinct to go work.
Meanwhile, Dorian fell asleep waiting for me to come back to my room, so both kids were out like lights by 7:15! I worked til 10:30 and then crashed, only to be woken up at 4 am by Irving’s phone which needed charging. Then I lay there worrying about getting paperwork done for the trip and getting visas, etc. for an hour or so.
Dante is drawing every day for hours. The result? I have dozens of adorable pictures piled up on my desk! He drew one of Papa dancing today which I have to scan in . . . he got the movement down and everything. Oh, and Dorian woke up bouncy and running around and asking for ice cream for breakfast. I think he’s better.
On top of all this . . . and the schedule mess-up, Irving’s brother is building next door, so trees are being downed, trenches dug, strange men are coming through our yard to get water (good excuse not to stay in jammies all day) and I’m hovering to keep heavy boots from trampling my precious lettuce and parsley plants that are still too little too handle any trauma. The other area of garden is growing well, but suffering from lack of sun. The cukes seem to have given up. They’re bright and green but haven’t grown past an inch high. Only the Chinese veggies are doing well, really. And the radishes are growing very fast, but looking too spindly. Ah well. I need to fill that area in and then try again, but that will have to wait until we get back from Canada.
So, there’s a nice rambling post for you. Hopefully I’ll get everything under control once we can settle into a nice routine with school and work and I can get rid of a few of the stressors that are making it hard to sleep!

Talk to Me, People!

Too bad Dorian was sick! But if he´s asking for ice cream, he´s ok now.Good luck with your veggies!
I´m so happy for you, now that you have so much work!
One good thing about Dorian is that he bounces back very quickly from everything.
I’m pretty happy myself about all this work . . . just today I’ve had six new orders come in!
I want to have space for a garden next time we move!
