Time for a Virtual Assistant?

Posted on April 16, 2008 - Filed Under Simple Life |

There´s a lot of talk going around about virtual assistants these days and I´m starting to think that it´s a good idea. See, I thought for a long time that there was nothing in my life a VA could actually do, but last night, I was feeling really overwhelmed and Googled “how to use a virtual assistant”.

Did you know there are actual lists of how to use your virtual assistant? It´s amazing. Anyway, I ended up making a list of things I could outsource and it was pretty big! I was surprised.

Some things I don´t need from a VA:

  • Email management: Much as I like to think I´m popular, I really only get emails from internet marketers and the occasional press release for At Home Mom.
  • Appointments: Um, no. I live in Guatemala and I never meet people. :)
  • Writing services: Since I´m a writer myself, can´t really see using this right now. Maybe when I´m rich and famous and don´t want to do the dirty work myself!

But there are some things I could outsource, like internet research, finding wahms to interview and article submission to article directories.

To make a long story short, I read up on the whole thing, did some searching and found some potential VAs. Gulp. Ready to take the leap and make my life a little bit simpler . . . . and hopefully more productive!
