Toddler Logic

I love how little kids think. It´s pretty obvious how those wheels are turning sometimes and Dorian does such a great job of expressing himself.

We´ve had a lot of problems with ants in the house lately, I think they have one giant nest under the floor, because they keep coming in from all sides. Since the boys dropping crumbs in the bedrooms was a big part of the issue, I told them no more food in the bedrooms. Apparently Dorian only heard “no more food”, because he burst into tears and ran out of the room crying, “I´m hungry!”

Yesterday, I walked into our bedroom to find a bunch of snack puffs on the floor. “What´s all this? I told you, NO food in the bedrooms!”

He looked up at me, threw his hands out and said, “But it´s NOT my bedroom!”

Then, today, we were watching TV and there was a preview for the Sarah Conner Chronicles and they showed a scene where she is shooting at the mandroid and his skin kind of parts and he jerks a bit, but keeps coming. Dorian saw it and yelled, “Bang Bang! She´s BREAKING him!” Hence the reason he´s not allowed to watch violence!

We thought we´d been doing a good job of keeping him sheltered, but I guess a few things slipped under the radar because about a month back, he pointed a popsicle stick at Dante and yelled “BAK BAK, firecrackers in Dante´s FACE!” :S For the record, the firecrackering comes from Toy Story 2, he says the lasers shooting at Buzz are firecrackers.

Ah, the joys of a toddler mind! Anyone else want to share? :D
