Tropical Storms Suck

So, Alma is passing by here right now. It was a hurricane further south, but now it´s just a tropical storm. So for the past four days, we´ve had rain. And more rain. And more rain. And then a bit more just for good measure.
While the cooler weather is a nice reprieve from sweltering tropical sun, it also means that kids are indoors all day long. All. Day. Long.
It´s been a long few days. Irving is off working, so that means it´s just me and the boys and a whole lot of ants who have decided that the house is a lot drier than their original home. Not to mention, a liberal buffet of cracker crumbs appears every minute on the minute, despite my repeated sweeping and mopping. I think the ants are the only ones happy with this forced confinement.

Here´s what the boys occupied themselves with this morning . . . making a bed out of my sleeping bag and then pretending to sleep on it. Then they started wrestling. Then . . . well, let´s just say the words “Stop squishing your brother!” have come out of my mouth way too often this weekend!

This isn´t the first “bed” they´ve made during all this rain. I guess the cold dampness of it all makes them want to snuggle.

We´ve also had a lot of food. Apparently my kids are boredom eaters too.

And learned to blow bubbles.

In other news, I´ve managed to finish a pair of booties . . . but I´m not that happy with them. My embroidery skills need a lot of work. But the concept is good.

Oh, AND, on Wednesday, I hope to have a brand new kitchen counter with a sink to show off for my Wordless Wednesday! YAY!

I know that was a hard weekend for you.
Rainy days like that you just want to curl up with a good book and not move, but then there are these perpetually hungry and bored little people! Looks like you handled it very well though.
And I love the baby shoes! Just like you say about me and my paintings, you are too hard on yourself. I think the embroidery looks good, and I love the stars on the toes. I understand the need to be perfect, but believe me, they are REALLY good!
Thanks, Jessica, I needed that.
Unfortunately, we just learned that the rain and wind isn´t expected to pass until WEDNESDAY!!! I don´t know how we´ll survive another two days of this.
just found you through momgrinds—-I spent some time in guatemala and adore it.
off to read!
