Two Little Boys Crawling on the Floor

Yup, I have two crawlers now. You all knew that Dante started zipping around a few days ago . . . well, now Dorian has decided to join him. I think it has something to do with Dante not being able to keep up with Dorian running.
It´s interesting to see how Dorian reacts when Dante makes a milestone. Dante jumps forward and Dorian goes backwards! When his baby brother was born, Dorian was annoyed and threw more tantrums than normal, but we didn´t see any of the supposedly usual regression . . . until now. With the baby crawling all over the place, Dorian has suddenly quit walking and running so much and is now on his knees all the time, too. He “falls” over more than Dante and “cries” for attention. I am happy to give it to him, since I´m sure he must be feeling that we are all over the baby, since he is constantly getting into stuff (how did our house get UN-babyproofed in less than a year?!?), but still. It is a bit annoying when the child who one minute wants to zip his own zipper is completely incapable of lifting himself off the floor the next.
Another little regression that we´ve been seeing is that Dorian wants me to give him his bottle. Just hold him like a little baby and rock him and even hold the bottle for him! I´m sure it´s just a stage, but it takes up a lot of time, sometimes and he gets very upset if I put him down to deal with Dante who is trying to eat a marble or something! I guess two is the year of waffling between wanting to be 100% independent and 75% dependent. ![]()

Well, they don’t call it the terrible two’s for nothing…!!!
But, I sympthaise with you, and I hope that Dorian gets through this stage quickly. I am sure it will pass as he is just mimiking his little brother!
I know it’s annoying, but it’s a little endearing at the same time. He just needs to be as important as the baby, and right now he’s making sure he gets his fair share of attention. Grayson drank from a bottle the first month we had Grant home, and he was three years old. It’ll pass.
