Weird Motivators - Supernatural and Kansas

Posted on July 30, 2007 - Filed Under Mom Stuff, Personal |

I have mentioned before, in passing, my slight obsession with the TV show, Supernatural. Irving thinks it is just due to my ridiculous crush on Jensen Ackles (which I attribute to an early mid-life crisis), but really, it´s a great show! Although I have to say, it would kind of suck without Jensen, but anywaaaaay.

The reason I´m talking about this is that I need motivation. To keep writing when I´m so sleep deprived that I can´t even think straight, let alone write a half-decent sentence. And so, my motivation is Supernatural. I tell myself that I can watch an episode if I write ten articles (I have the first two seasons on DVD) and to really inspire myself, I put on “Carry My Wayward Son” by Kansas, which is the starting song on the last episode of Season Two, which made me cry, by the way (I was 9.5 months pregnant, ok, everything made me cry!).

Weird what motivates some of us, huh? So, please share! What are your weird motivations? Or not so weird, if you feel like making me look bad. :D

Um, I just followed your link, and I think I just might have to watch that show now! He is a hottie!
As for a weird motivator, this is it. If I get all my junk done during the day, I can sit down and goof off after the kids are asleep. I live for the hour or so I spend looking at what I want on the internet & on tv. Kinda sad, huh?

I don´t think that´s sad at all, Jessie. Kid-free time is so difficult to come by, you should really enjoy it!

    Jessie,
I agree with Genesis, your free time is your own. You deserve it, and spending it in ways that nourish you is the best thing you can do for your family.

I just visited your site and was moved to tears by your eulogy for Lillian. Thanks.
