When You Give a Kid a Camera

Dorian is fascinated by photography and has been for over a year. Since he is very careful, he’s allowed to use our camera for short periods of time. He frequently asks to use it and then he goes around the house and even outside, snapping photos.
Most of his pictures of his own shoes, various textures that interest him (the fan, closeups of the couch and wall, etc.) and a lot of shots of his brother. He goes around saying, “Dante, you are just gorgeous! Smile!” I can just see him using that line on girls in the future.
He still needs a bit of work on his closeups for the most part, but he’s definitely improving. And, once in a while, he takes a truly impressive shot. Like this one of a caterpillar we found the other day.

When we move up to a new camera, probably while in Canada since this one is starting to fail with speed and low light, Dorian will be getting this camera for his own use, 100% of the time. I can’t wait to see what he does with his talent!
