Why Hasn´t Someone Invented a No-Sleep Pill?

Posted on January 7, 2008 - Filed Under Fun |

It would be a good idea. I´d buy it, for sure. These days, I feel like I´m just so tired all the time and there is just so darn much to do! It would be really nice to be able to stay up till the wee hours again, without having to worry about certain little people waking me up at 5 am. :D

If there were such a thing as a no-sleep pill, here´s what I´d do with all that extra time:

  • Get my house organized. I always get semi-organized and then it all falls apart.
  • Finish some sewing projects, like curtains for our windows (we just got the glass in) and new pjs for myself and the boys.
  • Make a quilt or two. My mom used to do quilting and I just love how they look on the beds, all cozy and warm.
  • Write ahead on my blogs. On my other blogs, that is. Then I wouldn´t be struggling to keep up with all my writing assignments and still get my own stuff done.
  • Write a novel. I´ve got a few ideas, but they never get out thanks to time constraints.
  • Try some of my money-making ideas. ;) Got lots, but no time to implement them.
  • Talk more to my sisters who are always online really late at night, when I´m fading.
  • Read. I never have time to read these days without someone shoving a Franklin book on top of my novel. :)

What would you do if you never had to sleep again?

Oh dear, I think that the list would be a long list…

    Renovate Laundry into Laundry/2nd Bathroom.

Repair crack and paint inside of house. It was built in 1928 and the previous owner didn’t do a great deal of maintenance.

Cook more meals in advance, instead of opening up cupboards to see what I can make with nothing!

Get stuck in a weed the garden, especially the front rose garden which hasn’t been touched since going to New Zealand! The lawns are now (finally) back to how they should be. Not quite like a bowling green, but close enough…

Shop for our spa, and relax in it until all wrinkly… With a glass or two of something special of course!!! :)

I’m so sleepy right now, I can’t think of what I’d do! I like your list, though. It sounds pretty similar to one I would make (except the sisters part, since I don’t have any!)

The ones I use are called No-Doz. I don’t know if you can get them there. It’s my survival “alert” pill on crazy Uni + work juggling. And all the other things I juggle.

It’s basically just caffeine, I think. It works for me but I have to warn you, when the effect wears out, you are suddenly hit by extreme feeling of tiredness that have built up but you passed over because you were on No-Doz. It’s kinda nasty and I try my best to use it sparingly.

    There’s always coffee?

Hmm, sounds like this could be a popular pill. :D

Gloria, we have one called Sin Sueño, also caffeine, but I´m pretty caffeine-resistant these days. Plus, my thought is a pill that would just make it unnecessary to sleep, so you wouldn´t have to later, either. :)
