Woohoo! My Very First Tag!

Posted on August 4, 2007 - Filed Under Fun |

I´m thrilled to announce that Ev from Wacky Mom has tagged me for my very first tagged meme EVER! I´m quite excited. See, I have done memes before, but no one ever tagged me. So it is really cool that someone in the blogosphere has actually noticed me. Thanks, Ev! (Go check out her site, she really is a wacky mom.)

Ok, so the meme is to bring back some older posts and was started by Mimi Pencil Skirt. I have to go back through my old posts, which won´t be too hard because this is a very new blog! Here we go:

Link One: Family  - Make a Grown Man Cry When Dorian made his papa cry.

Link Two: Friends - Getting the Pre-Pre-Baby Body I have no friends that I have blogged about. It is rather sad, so I have put a link about my sister instead.

Link Three: Yourself (uh, that would be me) - How I Spent My $6.50 and Are You a Morning Person?  I couldn´t help myself, had to put two!

Link Four: Something I Love - Thirteen Things I Love About Guatemala Exactly what it appears to be!

Link Five: Anything at All - Almost as Good as the Zoo I really miss spending alone time with Dorian.

Ok, I have to tag 5 people, the lucky ones are:

Jessie at JustJessie
Bernie at Burnt Offerings
Meg at Bad Homeschool Mom
Leiann at Mommy Bug
Kimmie at Over the Moon with Joy

Hi Ex-Pat Mom - good to see you at Michele’s.. :-)

I loved the story of Dorian at the pet shop. The mental image of him reversing into the chickens made me chuckle…..

Congratulations on receiving your first tag! It is something of a rite of passage. I was thrilled when I received my first as well. However, it was short order before I established an anti-meme and anti-tag policy. Of course, there are some exceptions, but for the most part I don’t respond to tags nor do I tag. Same goes for memes. I just feels almost coercive to me, but that’s just me.

    Michele sent me,

    Mike

CQ, it was a pretty funny sight, but he was so frightened by the chickens (who put up a big fuss about the whole thing) that I felt bad.

Mike, I´m sure I´ll be sick of memes and tags at some point, but part of the reason I started ExPat Mom is because I didn´t feel that I should have memes on my regular business blog, At Home Mom (link in the sidebar). They just seemed like so much fun!

ExpatMom; just to show that with Michele’s meet and greet you get repeat offenders^H^H^H^H visitors coming to say hi!

But do ignore all the mean nastiness on the site today — it is usually gone before you see it, and I think that you can safely just ignore it most of the time!

I’d like to reiterate what BB said. The exception is the malcontent trying to create waves… most everyone who plays at Michele’s site are highly intelligent, respectful and respectable.

    Of course, she sent me,

    Mike

Hmm, first I’m gonna read all your linked posts, and then I’ll go do mine! I’m a tag virgin, too, you’re my first! lol.

    ExpatMom,
Just in case you don’t follow conversations on other people’s blogs yet, I’ll follow up here: I’m assuming that the climate in Guatemala is similar to that in the Yucatan twenty years ago — in which case it is probably hard but not impossible, even without a fridge, if you can start a sourdough culture, to keep it alive an make bread on a regular basis.

Oh, BOY, does a fridge make cooking easier, but it is still possible in hotter climes: after all, the Indians and Pakistanis have naan bread, chapati, paratha, etc!

    Best, and again, welcome,
    N.

BreadBox, more than happy to see a repeat offender! :D I actually tried a sourdough culture once and it kind of outgrew the can and decided to explore the wonderful world of my son´s toybox, overnight. Maybe I ought to write about that sometime! I should try again, I suppose.

Mike, welcome. I´m not worried about comment spam, it is the reason I moderate my comments. Over on my other blog, At Home Mom, I have about 100-150 per day.

Jessie, glad to . . . um, nevermind. This is a family blog, so I´ll just keep that comment to myself! Welcome to the world of memes. :D Feel free to tag me in the future, now that we have both arrived!
