I started reading to Dorian the day he came home from the hospital. Here, no one reads books to their kids, it is considered an adult pursuit, so everyone thinks I´m nuts! But guess who can stay busy for an hour with a stack of books while his mama is working? :D

He loves having books read to him, now. In fact, that Wee Willie Winkie book is still a favorite!

sobeit, have you tried giving your fifth graders Beverly Cleary books to read? My sister hated reading and my librarian grandmother suggested the Ramona books. She read one, reluctantly, and never looked back!
