You Might Be Suffering from Terrible Two Syndrome if . . .

Posted on November 20, 2007 - Filed Under Kids |

“Stop hitting the baby” has become a daily  mantra in your home.

You are deaf to screams for more ice cream.

Bedtime in your home means ten glasses of water, two diaper changes and some headbanging on the door.

Your floor bears the rubber marks of a smallish person kicking (with sneakers) while spinning in circles on their back.

Only plastic dishes have survived the rabid attacks of your toddler.

The mere whisper of the word “candy” creates half an hour of chaos.

Bedtime is officially being moved to 4 pm.

Naps are non-existent, but you continue to put your child down for “quiet time”.

Your husband and you haven´t had a conversation that doesn´t involve the words, “misbehaving”, “tantrum” and “gets his own way” in months.

You find yourself wondering why on earth you wanted so badly to have children.

You are certain your almost two year old is bi-polar.

Meals have become a battlefield.

Just a few of the things I´m discovering as Dorian enters this charming new world of two-dom. See you on the flip side!

I feel your pain! Grant and Dorian are at about the same stage. We’ve tried three nights in a row to put up our Christmas tree, and every time Grant has thrown so many fits, we’ve just said FORGET IT! HE’S GOING TO BED! I was really wishing for that four o’clock bedtime today!

Isn´t it awful? I just try to remember that someday, he´ll be past this and be sweet and lovable more than 10% of the time! :D I miss my happy boy.
